Tactile sensors for Humans and Robots
Ego tango, ergo sum.

The sense of touch is one of the most important senses for living beings to perceive themselves and their environment.

Our goal is to recreate the sense of touch for people who have lost their limbs.

For more than 10 years we have been developing tactile sensors, which we test and refine in a scientific context using state-of-the-art anthropomorphic robot hands.

Our novel sensors are based on bi-elastic substrates. This makes them very robust and soft at the same time, similar to human skin.

This project is funded by the European Regional Development Fund ERDF,  (EFRE de).

The objectives can be divided into the three domains of hardware, software and business planning.

  • Our individually tested manufacturing processes are being harmonized into one production line.
  • Optimization of our software packages for an intuitive usability of its features.
  • Comprehensive market entry planning from process cost optimization to business registration preparation.
